St. Augustine, Fla. (Dec. 21, 2020) –Betty Griffin Center has earned a second consecutive 4-star rating from Charity Navigator.
“Based on the most recent information available, we are proud to announce Betty Griffin Center has earned our highest possible rating, indicating that the organization adheres to sector best practices and executes its mission in a financially efficient way,” said Charity Navigator President and CEO Michael Thatcher.
With more than 1.5 million American charities, Charity Navigator aims to accentuate the work of efficient and transparent organizations and provide donors with essential information to give them greater confidence in both the charitable decisions that they make and the nonprofit sector.
Betty Griffin Center CEO Joyce Mahr says the designation from Charity Navigator sets the nonprofit organization apart from its peers and demonstrates its trustworthiness to the public.
“Attaining a 4-star rating verifies that Betty Griffin Center exceeds industry standards and outperforms most charities in our area of work,” Mahr said. “Only 32 percent of the charities it evaluates have received at least two consecutive four-star evaluations, which also indicates that we are outperforming most other charities in America.”
Mahr says the announcement couldn’t have come at a better time, since Betty Griffin Center just launched its annual holiday appeal to donors.
“We’ve been serving our community for 30 years, and the holiday season is often a turning point for families in our care, so we hope this recognition will further encourage our donors to support Betty Griffin Center this year,” Mahr said.
