Host a Special Event
Holding a Fundraising Event to Benefit Betty Griffin Center
Donation Collection:
It’s a great way to get rid of old clothes and household items. Instead of a yard sale or garage sale, donate items to the thrift shoppes to help raise funds for survivors of domestic and sexual abuse.
‘Wish List’ Drive:
Have family, friends, coworkers, and/or neighbors donate items from our wish list. These items are a constant need at the shelter throughout the year.
Host A House Party:
Plan and sell tickets to a fundraiser to benefit the Betty Griffin Center. Set a fundraising goal and invite people who have an interest in ending intimate partner violence and want to learn more about the Betty Griffin Center. Request a BGC Representative to come speak at your event! (Note: Speakers considered for audiences of at least 20 or more.)
Hold A Bake Sale:
Show off your baking skills to benefit the Betty Griffin Center.
Host A Board Game Tournament:
Teams will play against each other so encourage participants to create a team name and theme. Charge each team an entry fee or an item from our wish list and donate to help victims of domestic and sexual abuse.
Hold A Spaghetti Dinner:
Invite all your friends to a fundraising dinner (or Pancake Breakfast or Ice Cream Social). Charge a $5 entry fee or encourage attendees to donate directly to the Betty Griffin Center.
Wear Jeans Day:
For a $5 donation to the Betty Griffin Center, let employees wear jeans or casual clothes for a day.
Host A Movie Night:
Host a movie night at your house, church or center. Sell baked goods, snacks or popcorn to raise funds for victims of domestic and sexual abuse.

Third-party special events organized by outside individuals/organizations play an important role in providing critical resources to survivors of domestic and sexual violence.

Due to the amount of time that is involved in creating and implementing a special event, it is our policy to have each organization or individual complete and sign the enclosed planning outline/agreement to make sure that your goals are achieved and your time is rewarded.
