The CEOs of all Northeast Florida domestic violence shelters, including Ellen Siler (Quigley House), Tracie Fasel (Micah’s Place), Gail Patin (Hubbard House) and our own Kelly Franklin (pictured left to right above), assembled for a news conference on October 2 to announce October as Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

The Betty Griffin Center has coordinated a number of activities throughout St. Johns County in October to raise awareness during the month.

In support of Domestic Violence Awareness Month, all ticket sales at the Magic Hideaway Experience at the Casa Monica Resort & Spa in October will benefit Betty Griffin Center. Please consider purchasing a ticket for this great show!

9 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 3 – A DVAM Proclamation from the St. Johns County Board of Commissioners: 500 San Sebastian View, St. Augustine

5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Oct. 6 – An Art Show Opening Reception (On Display throughout October: Flagler College Crisp Ellert Art Museum, 48 Sevilla St., St. Augustine

5 p.m. Monday, Oct. 9 – A DVAM Proclamation from the City of St. Augustine: Lightner Museum, 75 King St., St. Augustine in the Alcazar Room

4 p.m. Tuesday, Oct. 10 – A DVAM Proclamation from the St. Johns County School Board & ‘A Day Without Violence 2024 Calander Awards Ceremony for St. Johns County Student Winners: 40 Orange St, St. Augustine

We will also honor its long-time benefactors at The Giving Circle of Growth Donor Appreciation Event on Oct. 25 at The Palencia Club in St. Augustine.
